The LA Times will be hosting their annual Festival of Books this weekend, Sat., April 20-Sun., April 21. This will be the third year that the festival will be held at the University of Southern California campus, and it marks the first year that the LA Metro Expo line will be available to travelers headed to the event–parking is also available at the school for $10 per day.

The festival features multiple stages and booths throughout the entire campus where visitors can witness musical performances, cooking demonstrations, and where over 500 authors will participate in lively panel discussions, book readings and signings, and onstage interviews. Hungry readers and writers alike can visit the food court located at Cromwell field for various food trucks such as Crepe ‘n Around and the Palazzolotruck. Families will enjoy the Target stage (centered at McCarthy Quad on campus) which features children’s entertainment all weekend long including readings and sing-alongs.

Tickets are available for all the events around the festival for free online, though a $1 processing fee is required–however, the option remains to wait in the standby line to gain entrance. The festival also offers a cool app for Android and iPhones in order to customize a personalized schedule for the weekend.
