Artist James Welling has consistently cited the profound influence Andrew Wyeth had on him as a young painter. However, since the 1970s, Welling’s focus has been on photography. His work centers on an exploration of the medium, resulting in work, which he produces in series, that are highly diverse in every respect—subject matter, scale, cameras, and processes. He’s recently printed his hardcover book, Wyeth, here at Paper Chase Press. The in-stock charcoal linen cover bindery style compliments the beautiful imagery inside the book which illustrates photographs taken in Maine and Pennsylvania. The images reflect the seasons and events that occur throughout the year and provide a greater visual of elements of nature.
